Second Planet Ford Whisperer Contest Celebration
Another Ford Whisperer has been found, congratulations to Jesse Gutierrez, winner of the #PlanetFordWhisperer contest!
Mr. Gutierrez was given the keys to a new F-150 SuperCrew on September 15, 2018, at the movie-themed Planet Ford Whisperer celebration announcement, which took place at the Planet Ford Dealership in Humble, Texas.
It was a close race, there were ten finalists that were brought up to share their Planet Ford Whisperer entries. To enter, contestants registered at PlanetFordWhisperer.com and submitted a video or photo essay. Entrants shared their own Ford Whisperer tale, from why they too were a whisperer or how Mr. Reed the Ford Whisperer has helped them find their ideal Ford. Once an entry was submitted, contestants garnered more attention by sharing on social with #PlanetFordWhisperer and #FordWhisperer and getting friends and family to vote.
The grand prize-winning video submitted featured his son, Little Jesse, who was reaching out to speak to the Ford Whisperer via phone to call for help in raising awareness about September being Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. As of this September, Little Jesse has now been in remission for two years. The Gutierrez family is excited that they will now have a new Ford F-150 to help support a foundation the family is creating, called Jesse’s Fight Club. They will be transporting donation items to local hospitals and to help families with children who are also battling cancer.
Following this announcement, Little Jesse performed his rap song for the Reed family, that he wrote about his days in the hospital and life blessing that followed.
“We just want to thank you,” said Mr. Gutierrez to the Reed family and everyone at the Planet Ford (serving greater Houston) stores. “Thank you so much for helping us raise awareness about childhood cancer,” he added. “I feel very excited, very happy to win this truck. It’s going to help my foundation,” said little Jesse.
Dana Tyson, the evening’s emcee and host at Sunny 99.1, announced the winning name as confetti exploded and rained down around the entire dealership. “The decision was difficult for the judging panel,” said John Center, GM of Planet Ford in Humble. “Every entry was so creative and diverse, they really brought something different to the Planet Ford Whisperer contest.” That’s true, and it was a real honor to recognize and award all of these talented individuals during the celebration.
The Planet Ford Whisperer Campaign
The Planet Ford Whisperer contest is part of a campaign created in celebration of a historic Ford first: every single World Class Automotive Ford dealership receiving the Ford Triple Crown in the same year. In addition, the family-owned dealership is celebrating being the seventh inductee ever into Ford’s Top Sales Volume Dealer Hall of Fame.
This is the second big event of giveaways this year for the Ford Whisperer. In May, there were two dream Fords given away as part of the Planet Ford in Spring Grand Opening. Michael Page drove home with a Ford Shelby GT350, while Liz Aronson won the Ford F-150 Raptor.
The Reed family is incredibly proud of this unprecedented achievement. In addition, Planet Ford is celebrating being a six-time consecutive Triple Crown and President’s Award winner. Since the inception of the Triple Crown, only 78 dealers have achieved the distinction, with less than half a percent winning it on an annual basis. “This incredible accompaniment recognizes their well-deserved commitment to their communities, charities, customers, employees and Ford Motor Company,” said Dianne C. Craig, Director of U.S. Sales for Ford.
