Randall Reed Breaks Ground for Multi-Use Facility

Randall Reed, owner of World Class Automotive Group, broke ground Tuesday afternoon on a new mixed-use Lincoln dealership. The luxury dealership will be located at 7701 Lemmon Ave., Dallas, Texas, and is part of a 25-acre, $140-million mixed-use redevelopment taking place at the historic Braniff International Airways facility at Dallas Love Field.

The iconic building, now known as the Braniff Centre, will house the 267,342-square-foot Lincoln dealership, as well as aviation facilities, entertainment venues and hospitality facilities. When completed, Mr. Reed’s Dallas Lincoln dealership will be the largest Lincoln-branded automotive facility structure in North America.

The facility has been a dream of Mr. Reed, a Texas dealer and entrepreneur, for the past seven years. “We’re extremely excited to finally be breaking ground on this project,” said Mr. Reed. “The synergy is beyond anything I could have imagined in the seven years that we’ve been working on this project.”

The project transformation has been conducted in partnership with the Texas Historic Commission. “This amazing redevelopment will not only preserve this important piece of Dallas history, but create wonderful business opportunities that will provide incredible services to our local community.”

In 2009, Mr. Reed retained Michael Graves, The Gravity Company, to develop his vision of the mixed-use development. The Gravity Company in tandem with FRCH Design Worldwide have worked with the Federal Aviation Administration, Texas Historic Commission and the National Parks Service to securing the approvals needed to meet the guidelines and preservation requirements.

While updating the structure to serve contemporary uses, it was crucial to keep the original designs of William Pereira and Charles Luckman and retain the spirit of flight seen in elements such as the inverted butterfly roof architecture.

This approved project has allowed Mr. Reed to attract development partners including: Lincoln Property Co., Blue Star Land LP and aviation company, The Arnold Cos (TAC). Each have projects that are a part of this master development.

The restoration and expansion of the Braniff building will help restore a portion of the airfield to an earlier time in aviation history and recapture the modern jet-setter lifestyle that was once defined by Braniff International Airways in the ‘50s. Renovations are expected to be completed by summer 2019.

Randall Reed’s Park Cities Ford Lincoln is the current site of the Lincoln franchise at 3333 Inwood Road, Dallas. The Ford franchise will remain at that location, its home since 1992.

Ford CEO & Team Awards Dozens of Prestigious Honors

Randall Reed, owner of World Class Automotive Group, has achieved a historic Ford first. He is the first independent dealer to win the highly coveted Triple Crown at every World Class Automotive dealership in the same year. In addition, in 2018, Randall Reed became one of only seven dealers inducted into the Ford Dealer Hall of Fame.

One of the biggest highlights from the Grand Opening celebration came from the awards and ribbon cutting ceremony. Ford Motor Company executives were on site to award Mr. Reed, Mrs. Reed and every World Class Automotive dealership with Ford’s highest recognition, the Triple Crown.

“We are thrilled to celebrate this unprecedented achievement of every independent dealer’s location earning Ford’s highest honor,” said Mr. Reed.

Ford’s CEO, James Hackett; Mark LaNeve, Vice President of U.S. Marketing, Sales and Service; Joy Falotico, group vice president, Lincoln and Chief Marketing Office; and Elena Ford, a member of the Ford family, among many other Ford executives, spoke at the event and presented a selection of the groups 25 awards. From honoring Mr. Reed as being only the7th Ford Top Sales Hall of Fame inductee to receiving a historic Triple Crown Award for every Randall Reed Ford dealership earned in the same year; it was a momentous occasion.

World Class Automotive Dealership Awards:

  • Ford Dealer Hall of Fame–based on sales volume but also requires a dealer be respected and admired loved by the Ford Motor Company, Ford Credit, their own employees as well as other Ford dealers.

2nd Chance Winner Gets Ford Raptor

The #PlanetFordWhisperer contest was a massive success. The contest had so many amazing entrants, with only one, Michael Page, ultimately winning it all and taking home the Ford Mustang Shelby GT350. That left a new Ford F-150 Raptor up for grabs in the PlanetFordWhisperer/2ndChance giveaway.

During Planet Ford in Spring’s Grand Opening on May 18th, Randall Reed, the Ford Whisperer and owner of Planet Ford, drew Tomishia “Liz” Aronson’s name. The crowd held their breathe as her name was called out multiple times. Then, just as they wondered if they should call another name, she showed up speechless and in utter shock.

“I’m still really in shock and I’m so excited,” Ms. Aronson said. “I remember when the Raptor came out; it was my dream truck. Winning it pretty much made my whole life.”

Ms. Aronson won the 2nd dream Ford by entering the PlanetWhisperers 2nd Chance Winner Sweepstakes that was held the week leading up to the Grand Opening. All guest had to do was RSVP at planetfordwhisperer.com/2ndchance and then show up to the event or even show up and sign up while there.  It only took a couple minutes to enter and it turned out to be well worth Ms. Aronson’s time.

Everyone at Planet Ford congratulates her on her wrangling her dream Raptor. She already has plans to make it her own. “I’m bringing it in next week to get a bed liner,” she said. Clearly, the Ford Whisperer found the right home for this wild F-150.

Grand Opening #PlanetFordWhisperer Grand Prize Winner Announced

Randall Reed, the Ford Whisperer and owner of World Class Automotive and Planet Ford would like to thank everyone for coming out to Planet Ford in Spring and making the Houston-area Ford dealership Grand Opening a one-of-a-kind celebration. A highlight of the evening was announcing the Planet Ford Whisperer winner. The Reed Family and Planet Ford want to thank everyone who entered their creative videos and photo essays.  The #PlanetFordWhisperer contest moderators and panel of judges had an incredibly hard time choosing the best of the best. “There were so many entries that were deserving of the prize; it was hard to narrow it down,” said Randall Reed, owner of Planet Ford and the Ford Whisperer.

The grand prize ultimately went to Michael Page, who created the video called Into The Wild. As Randall Reed and his wife, Sherry along with Dana Tyson from Sunny 99.1 read out the name from the envelope, you could see the look of disbelief and shock on Michael’s face.

Michael had his choice of a new Ford Mustang Shelby GT350 or Ford Raptor.  He opted for the new Shelby GT350!

The others judge favorites were so incredible, they won a Grand Prize Pack! So, everyone is truly a winner.

We also gave away a special Planet Ford Whisperer Brand Ambassador Award that went to Chris Lee. Lee was recognized for his continued dedication to the Ford and Planet Ford brands. He is a passionate Ford lifer and it shows in every one of his videos he posted. Thank you Chris.

Then, it was time to announce the Planet Ford Whisperer 2nd Chance Winner! The 2nd Chance Winner sweepstakes took place the entire week leading up to the event. All you had to do was enter your information and show up to the event. That evening, after Randall Reed awarded the #PlanetFordWhisperer Contestant with the GT350, he announced that the 2nd Chance Winner was Tomishia Aronson!

J.D. Power 2018 Dealer of Excellence for the Customer Sales Experience

Demonstrating its commitment to exceeding customer expectations, World Class Automotive Group dealerships have been certified in the J.D. Power 2018 Dealer of Excellence ProgramSM, which recognizes a select number of vehicle dealerships throughout the United States that provide exceptional customer service.

“This certification sets us apart, especially coming from such an authority as J.D. Power,” said Randall Reed, owner of World Class Automotive. “We are incredibly proud as this is a difficult recognition to achieve. We have garnered it at all of our World Class Automotive Ford and Lincoln locations. In addition, we have done so in tandem with the historic first of aching the Ford Triple Crown at every one of my Ford locations in the same year.”

World Class Automotive Group J.D. Power 2018 Dealer of Excellence includes Randall Reed’s Prestige Ford, Randall Reed’s Park Cities Ford, Randall Reed’s Park Cities Lincoln, Randall Reed’s Planet Ford in Humble, Planet Ford in Spring, and Planet Lincoln.

Known for its “Voice of the Customer” research for 50 years, J.D. Power and its Dealer of Excellence Program help consumers identify leading retailers that will go the extra mile. Buying a vehicle can be an overwhelming process, which is why dealers recognized in the Dealer of Excellence Program are highlighted for helping consumers confidently make that big step. Dealerships at this level of excellence are hard to find, as shown in the exclusivity of the program in that not all dealerships qualify.

To qualify, the dealers must meet three main criteria. First, J.D. Power limits the percentage of eligible dealerships based on each brand’s performance in the most recent J.D. Power U.S. Sales Satisfaction Index (SSI) Study.SM Thus, proportionally more dealerships from top-performing brands can become a J.D. Power Dealer of Excellence. Dealerships must also rank among their brand’s top performers in key customer satisfaction areas consistent with measurements found in the SSI Study.

Finally, qualifying dealers must pass an audit to show they meet or exceed J.D. Power sales best practices. Those best practices include, but are not limited to, listing vehicle inventory and pricing on the dealership website; negotiating in an efficient and transparent manner; offering a fair trade-in value; and presenting a clear and easy-to-understand menu of finance and insurance products.
