Now, Vincentric has named the Ford Transit and Transit Connect as having the Best Fleet Value in America in six of the nine categories for vans! The Ford Transit took the top spot for full-size ½- and 1-ton passenger vans and full-size ½-, ¾-, and 1-ton cargo vans. The Transit Connect XLT was named the top Mini Passenger Commercial Van.
Ford’s Transit vans replaced the E-Series line and offers a huge variety of options for customizing it to fit a business’ exact needs. There are three roof height options and three wheelbase length options that results in a cargo-volume range from 246.7 cubic feet to 487.3 cubic feet. The passenger versions can be configured to carry 8, 10, 12, or 15 passengers comfortably. There is also a wide selection of “upfit” accessories to customize storage and cargo management.
The Transit line has also vastly improved its fuel economy, which played a large part in its selection for the Best Fleet Value awards. The available 3.5L V6 EcoBoost reportedly improves on the estimated highway mileage of the E-Series’ 6.8L V10 by 46 percent. The Transit’s standard 3.7L V6 outperforms the former standard 4.6L V8 in that category by 19 percent.
Other Ford vehicles that won their categories for Best Fleet Value in America are the Ford Taurus SE 2.0L EcoBoost for its sixth consecutive win, the Explorer XLT 2.0L EcoBoost for its third consecutive win, and the Expedition XL 2WD for its second consecutive win.
