In a day and age where every one talks about being green, there are people and companies who do more than talk, they are making every day Earth Day. Ford Motor Company is one of those businesses, from their vehicles of today (to those in the future) to its facilities around the globe.

From shredded retired currency to Indian grass, sugar cane, dandelions, corn and coconuts, a wide range of eco-conscious materials are under review for potential application in Ford vehicles.
Since 2000, Ford reduced the amount of water used by 10.6 billion gallons, or 62 percent.
The equivalent of about two pairs of jeans, about 39 plastic bottles and about 31,000 soybeans already are used in the 2013 Ford Fusion.
Since 2010, Ford kept 62,000 bumpers from being in landfilled.
By 2016, Ford plans to send just 13.4 pounds of waste-to-landfill per vehicle as part of a five-year plan.
The amount of energy used to make each Ford vehicle will decrease by 25 percent by 2016.
